Hello to all my patients and parents! My name is Dr. Lauren Hernandez and I started Sprout Pediatrics with three other providers in 2020. I am so excited to show you our new facility and make you aware of all the exciting things we have to offer!
Getting to know your Pediatrician
I grew up in Arabi, Louisiana near New Orleans. I graduated valedictorian from Ursuline Academy in 2002, and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of New Orleans. I then went on to Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 2011 and received my medical degree.
Professional accomplishments
I am a board-certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I was awarded the The Stephen Osofsky Memorial Award in 2011 for outstanding performance during the pediatric acting internship. In 2014, I completed my pediatric residency at LSUHSC New Orleans Children’s Hospital. I have been actively practicing pediatrics in the New Orleans area and have been consistently recognized as one of the top three pediatricians in the city for the past 5 years.
Getting to know me personally
I am married to Jonathan Hernandez, high school teacher and basketball coach, and we have three sons- Jax 7, Finn 4, and Emerson 1. I love my family and they keep me busy! I am also an exercise enthusiast enjoying biking with my family, vacationing at the beach, and did I mention keeping up with my three active boys? Lol!
